In 2019, ISO continues to meet and exceed expectations. For example, 1,638 documents (over 84,000 pages) were published in ISO, more than in any other year. These include standards such as ISO / IEC 27701, which will play an essential role in combating threats to online privacy, standards that enable sustainable integrated urbanization through Building Data Modeling, and ISO 56002, a new innovation management standard. In addition, the indicator of international standards and ISO model documents as of December 31, 2019 is 22 913. In the same year, the technical bodies developing standards in ISO are 3 632, and the number of meetings held in 61 countries reaches 3 677.These standards include over a million pages that are available in English and French.
ISO's top 5 technical sectors, published results are in sectors such as information technology, graphics and photography (21.7%), mechanical engineering (15.0%), transportation (12.5%), non-metallic materials (8.9% ), health, medicine and laboratory equipment (6.8%).
A total of 4,702 jobs were included in the technical committee program,involving 2,025 new registered jobs. On average, 28 technical meetings are held per day.
Important digital indicators of the ISO Central Secretariat, located in Geneva, show the effectiveness and efficiency of the enterprise in achieving its goals. For 2019, about 150 people have been employed, of whom 24 nationalities are working hard together as a cohesive united team. The ratio of women to men is 59/41, which is a prime example of the importance of balance in ISO activities.
ISO continues to build on this progress in order to achieve its goals and strategies for the coming years.
