On November 27, 2019, Uzstandard Agency in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held a meeting with international food safety consultants Douglas Birni, Cornelis Soneveld, Iddya Karunasagar.

At the meeting, international consultants discussed theoretical and practical measures to ensure that food security is an important factor determining the country's development, the level of economic and spiritual development, as well as a comprehensive analysis and further improvement of food security in all countries, development and implementation of theoretical and practical proposals and recommendations for a comprehensive analysis and further improvement of ongoing work, which are of paramount importance.

The international consultants also highlighted the information presented in the World Food Security Reports and the situation in Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan

 During the event, international consultants learned about the work carried out in Uzbekistan on ensuring food safety, standards and technical regulations, and hope that this will aid to further research work.

 On November 28 of current year, Uzstandard Agency will hold a training seminar with international consultants, ministries and departments involved in food security in the country.  

The event will feature lectures on food safety. There will be a question-and-answer discussion between the participants. The event will also be attended by Umida Haknazar, an international lawyer and consultant on World Trade Organization issues.
