On April 9, 2018, the delegation of the Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA), led by General director, Dr Naqibullah Faiq visited to Uzstandard agency. 

 During the meeting, the sides considered practical aspects of the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent contacts of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf  Ghani.

The formation of a working group on standardization and conformity assessment, opening of joint laboratories in the field of conformity assessment, training and retraining of specialists and develop a solid export plan were mainly highlighted during the meeting.

During the meeting, General director of Uzstandard Agency A.Karimov said that the country pays special attention to the development of export sphere, and Afghanistan is a big and close market to Uzbekistan, the country's advanced standardization, metrology and conformity assessment potential is advantageous to Afghanistan.

As a logical continuation of the negotiations, it was agreed to sign a strategic partnership program aimed at strengthening cooperation in the direction of development of standardization and conformity assessment between the two agencies.

The delegation of the Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA), toured SE "Uzbek national institute of metrology" and Republican center's of testing and certification the comprehensive laboratories, and were introduced to the laboratories’s capabilities.

At the end of meeting, Dr Naqibullah Faiq, thanked head of Uzstandard agency for a warm welcome and the opportunity to candidly and constructively discuss development priorities in the bilateral relations.
