On March 29, 2018, Deputy of General Director, Uzstandart Agency Jasur Shukurov met with the Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of GLOBAL G.A.P. Flavio Alzueta, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the international conference on «Increasing of export potential of Uzbekistan. Quality infrastructure and conformity assessment to international standards».

During the meeting, representatives of GLOBAL G.A.P, UNDP, GIZ Ministry of Agriculture of the republic of Uzbekistan, Uzstandart Agency and Farmers Union of Uzbekistan  discussed current issues of  implementing GLOBALG.A.P standards in Uzbekistan.

As explained by Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of GLOBALG.A.P Flavio Alzuet, GLOBALG.A.P. is a private sector body that sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the globe and GLOBALG.A.P. is a non-profit making organization whose mission is to work on the continuous improvement of Good Agricultural Practices at farm level to ensure confidence in the safe and sustainable production of food for the benefit of consumers.

He mentioned GLOBALG.A.P. Guiding Principles as Open Access for producers anywhere, Generic HACCP and GAPs provide technical basis, Wide Stakeholder Consultation, Transparency, Trusted Equivalence System–“GLOBALGAP Benchmarking“ and Commitment to continuous improvement and local adaptation.

Deputy of General Director, Uzstandart Agency Jasur Shukurov expressed sincere gratitude to the Vice President GLOBALG.A.P Flavio Alzueta for the efforts on familiarize meeting participants of fresh fruits and vegetables with requirements, benefits and certification procedures of GLOBALG.A.P.  as well as emphasized readiness for deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
